Health & Safety

Kate McWilliam School of Movement

We’re committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students, staff, and families. Here’s how we work to keep everyone safe during classes, workshops, and events:

What We Do

  • A trained first aider is present at every session

  • All venues have a fire evacuation plan, and staff are familiar with emergency procedures

  • Equipment (like mats and circus equipment) is regularly checked and always used under supervision

  • Risk assessments are carried out for every venue and activity

  • Students are taught how to use equipment safely and are expected to follow instructions

  • Accidents are recorded and reported to parents or carers as appropriate

  • We follow current public health guidance around illness and infection control

  • Students who are unwell or recovering from injury should stay home until they’re ready to take part safely

Help Us Keep Classes Safe

  • Let us know about any medical needs or injuries before class

  • Make sure students wear appropriate clothing and tie back long hair

  • Encourage your child to follow instructions and show kindness and respect to others
